Convocation 2021
54th Convocation of IIT Kanpur, held on 28 Dec. 2021, was graced by the Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji as the Chief Guest, and the Chief Minister of the State of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Aditynath Ji was the Guest of Honor. Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan was also present. Keeping in mind the pandemic restrictions, the convocation ceremony was held in hybrid mode.
Abhyuday Pandey of Computer Science & Engineering Dept. received the President’s Gold Medal from the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Yash Maheshwari of Electrical Engineering Dept. received the Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize from the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

Twenty-One Outstanding PhD Thesis Award were given out on Convocation Day. This award was instituted in 2020 to recognize the exceptional work of the PhD students.
PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji launched block-chain based digital degrees. Students were issued digital degrees through an in-house block-chain-driven technology developed by CRUBN at IIT Kanpur.
