Dr. Sharma is the Vice Chairman at Lupin Limited since September, 2013.
Dr. Sharma graduated in chemical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1969 and subsequently did his post-graduate diploma in industrial management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He later went on to earn his doctorate in economics from IIT Bombay and did an advanced management program from Harvard Business School, Boston. In a career spanning more than three decades, Dr. Sharma has held a range of senior management positions managing projects, corporate development and general management in the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries. He has served as a President and Chief Executive at RPG Enterprises. As a Vice Chairman of Lupin, Dr. Sharma helped Lupin diversify into a range of affordable generic and branded formulations in many markets. He has made it the first Indian company to successfully market an individual branded drug, Suprax, in the US. Dr. K.K. Sharma was conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, 2013 from IIT Kanpur.
