Dr. Prateek Jain currently serves as the Senior Research Staff at Google AI in Bengaluru, India. He currently serves as the Senior Research Staff at Google AI in Bengaluru, India.
Dr. Jain received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2004 and subsequently went on to earn his doctorate degree from the University of Texas in Computer Science & Engineering in 2009. As a Senior Research Staff at Google AI, Dr. Jain's research interests are in the fields of Machine Learning, Non-convex Optimization, and High-dimensional Statistics. He is also interested in applications of machine learning to privacy, computer vision, and natural language processing. His most well-known works are in the areas of Provable Non-convex Optimization and Efficient Machine Learning.
Dr. Jain has received multiple best paper awards at top machine learning and computer vision conferences including Best Paper Award by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, Student Paper Award at the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) in 2007, IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) in 2008, and the Best Paper Runner-up Award at the SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM) in 2008. He is the recipient of the prestigious IITK Young Alumnus Award, 2021.
