Dr. Pravesh K. Kothari is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2019. His research interests include : Algorithmic Thresholds for Average-case Computation, Theoretical Foundations of High-dimensional Machine Learning.
Dr. Kothari did his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2010. Subsequently, he went on to complete his PhD in Computer Science from University of Texas, Austin in 2016. He did his research internships at Microsoft Research Redmond, WA, USA (2009), IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose, CA, USA (2012), Microsoft Research, Bangalore, India (2013), Microsoft Research New England, Cambridge, MA, USA ( 2014, 2015). He was a Research Instructor at Princeton University, Computer Science department from 2016 to 2019. At the same time, he was also a Member, School of Mathematics, Institute of Advanced Studies, Princeton. Dr. Kothari got selected for the National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program Award in 2021
