Dr. Pravesh K. Kothari

Dr. Pravesh K. Kothari is Currently an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh.

Profile

Dr Kothari graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2010. After a brief stint at Microsoft Research Bangalore, he joined the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and obtained his PhD in Theoretical Computer Science in 2016. From 2016-19, Dr. Kothari was a postdoctoral Research Instructor jointly hosted by the School of Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University, Since 2019.

He is well known for his work on a new, principled method for designing fast algorithms for computational problems with statistically generated inputs. He will join the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University in January 2024.
