Mr. Rakesh Sharma is currently the Board Member at IIT Kanpur Foundation, USA where he works on fundraising and organising events for IIT Kanpur and IIT Kanpur alumni.
Mr. Sharma did his M.Tech in Nuclear Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1978. He went on to earn his MBA in Finance from Baruch College, New York in 1990.Mr. Sharma started his career in 1980 as a Probationary Officer at State Bank of India. He has been an independent Financial Consultant since December 2007. He was also the founder of IBM Advanced Center for Education. The Center had organized Advanced Software Training in Cutting edge technologies by bringing Professionals from the US to teach in India. Several Professors from IIT Kanpur and US Universities taught at this Educational Center. He is the recipient of the prestigious IITK Distinguished Services Award 2019.
