Dr. Deepak Sherlekar is a Fellow at Synopsys, an electronic design automation company that focuses on silicon design and verification, silicon intellectual property and software security and quality.
Dr. Sherlekar did his M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1981. He subsequently went on to earn his doctorate degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland in 1987. He is a member of the Solutions Group at Synopsys and has been primarily working on library cell architecture and is involved in the early stage of technology elevation.
Dr. Sherlekar has deep knowledge of library cell architecture and EDA tool technology. He has proposed new solutions to address issues encountered in leading edge technology process nodes. His unique qualification of having in-depth multi-disciplinary knowledge allows him to drive many initiatives among business units, including many projects in design technology co-optimization (DTCO). He has broad knowledge of library architecture, synthesis, optimization, and place and route, and has holds 25 patents.
Dr. Sherlekar was earlier a Distinguished Member of Tech Staff at Virage Logic Corporation. He was also an Assistant Professor at University of Michigan and a Senior Engineer at IBM.
