Dr. Rajeev Gautam

Dr. Rajeev Gautam is a distinguished global business leader, technologist, and chemical engineer with a career spanning nearly five decades in the energy, chemicals, advanced materials, and process technologies sectors. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solstice Advanced Materials and as a Member of the Board of Directors of NN, Inc.
Profile
An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Dr. Gautam earned his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in 1974. He subsequently received a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
He began his career with Union Carbide in 1978, which later became part of a joint venture with Honeywell UOP in 1988. Over a distinguished career spanning more than 43 years, he held leadership roles across research and development, engineering, technology, marketing, and business management. These included serving as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Honeywell UOP and Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT), President and CEO of Honeywell UOP, and subsequently President and CEO of Honeywell PMT.
Honeywell PMT is a global leader in advanced materials, process technologies, and automation solutions, with approximately $10 billion in sales in 2021. Honeywell UOP is one of the world's leading providers of process technologies that underpin global refining operations, enabling the efficient production of fuels, petrochemicals, and renewable fuels.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gautam has championed innovation and led the development and commercialization of a broad range of catalytic, separations, and process technologies for the refining, petrochemical, and gas-processing industries. In recognition of his exceptional professional achievements and contributions to industry, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT Kanpur in 2020.
