Dr. Saurabh Kumar Tiwary is the General Manager and Vice President of Google’s Cloud AI business unit, overseeing product families such as Vertex AI, Kaggle, Colab, and AI Studio. A leader in the AI field, Saurabh previously served as Corporate Vice President and Technical Fellow at Microsoft, where he played a crucial role in the AI transformation of the company. He led the Microsoft Turing group, driving advancements in large-scale model training, inference, and integration across major Microsoft products, including Microsoft Copilot, Office 365, Windows, Edge, and Bing. Dr. Saurabh also advised Microsoft Ventures Fund (M12), influencing its AI investments in start-ups.
He pioneered several initiatives at Microsoft, including the MS-TAP (Turing Academic Program) and the strategic partnership with OpenAI, integrating GPT-3, ChatGPT, and GPT-4 models into Microsoft products. levels of Google and Microsoft, positioning him as a key figure in the AI revolution.
After earning his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2001, Dr. Saurabh completed his MS and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
