Mr. Varun Khaitan is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Urban Company, Asia's largest at-home services marketplace. Since co-founding the company in 2014, he has played a key role in building one of the world's leading technology-enabled home services platforms.
Mr. Khaitan received his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2009. Following graduation, he began his professional career with Qualcomm Research & Development in California, where he gained valuable experience in technology and innovation. He subsequently joined The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a consultant, advising Fortune 500 companies across diverse industries and global markets on business strategy and operations.
Driven by an entrepreneurial vision, Mr. Khaitan returned to India and launched CinemaBox before co-founding Urban Company (formerly UrbanClap) in 2014. As Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, he oversees business operations, growth strategy, and partner success. Under his leadership, Urban Company has grown into Asia's largest at-home services marketplace, operating across India, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The platform today has a network of over 40,000 trained service professionals serving more than 5 million customers across 35+ cities, redefining the home services industry through technology, quality assurance, and professional empowerment.
Mr. Varun Khaitan received the Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize from IIT Kanpur during his graduation in 2009. He was named to Forbes India 30 Under 30 in 2017 and was featured among GQ's Most Influential Young Indians in 2017 and again in 2019. In 2018, he was recognized in Fortune India's 40 Under 40, an honor he received again in 2019 and 2021. He was also featured in The Economic Times 40 Under 40 in 2019. In recognition of his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements, IIT Kanpur conferred upon him the Young Alumni Award in 2021.
