Where Expertise Meets Practical Innovation
The Central Workshop is the hub of practical training at the institute, equipping undergraduate students with essential hands-on skills while supporting postgraduate students and researchers in fabricating their projects and experimental setups. The workshop also assists the university's maintenance section with its day-to-day needs.
Organized into seven specialized shops—Machine Shop, Fitting Shop, Foundry Shop, Carpentry Shop, Black Smithy Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, and Welding Shop—the Central Workshop is equipped with modern machines and tools to facilitate comprehensive training. Notable equipment includes CNC Vertical Milling Centres, CNC Lathes, Capstan Lathes, advanced milling and grinding machines, profile gas cutting machines, and a variety of welding plants.
With facilities like Argon gas and oxy-acetylene welding plants, modern oil-fired boilers, pneumatic power hammers, and hydraulic power hacksaws, the workshop ensures seamless fabrication. Precision tools such as sine bars, dial test indicators, micrometers, and slip gauges further enhance the quality of training and project execution.
