IIT Kanpur Senate recommended the formation of the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering.

Dec 07, 2020

IIT Kanpur Board of Governors officially approved the establishment of the Department.

Dec 26, 2020

Department officially formed; Prof. Ashish Garg appointed as the first Head of the Department.

July 2021

Successful onboarding & admission of the very first batch of Postgraduate (PG) students.
