One full-time Ph.D positions is available in our department under the VisvesvarayaPh.D scheme, conceived by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY), Government of India. Applications are invited from eligible and highly motivated candidates willing to pursue PhD in the research area of Organic Electronic Materials for Molecular Electronics and thin films engineered surfaces.

The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY), Government of India offers Ph.D positions under the VisvesvarayaPh.D scheme. Department of Chemistry at IIT Kanpur has already Ph. D students working under this scheme. One Ph. D position is available now in the Research group of Dr. Thiruvancheril G. Gopakumar. Interested candidates are requested to apply. The short listed candidates will be immediately notified and are requested to attend an interview on 18th July 2017. The selection is based on the interview and the selected candidates are expected to join the Ph. D. programme starting on 27th July 2017. The institute reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short listing of eligible candidates satisfying qualification and experience. Only shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview. Eligibility

  • Essential qualification: Applicants should have an MSc or equivalent degree (chemistry/physics) with at least 55% marks.

  • Desirable qualifications: Previous experience in thin films, molecular material, self-assembly of molecules and probe microscopy.
