Department of Intelligent Systems is inviting application under the Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship Scheme, from Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and foreign nationals who have completed their Ph.D within last five years. The positions are purely temporary. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, and extendable subject to satisfactory performance.

A candidate who has experience in publishing in the following venues would be a good fit: AAAI, IJCAI, AAMAS, ICAPS, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGIR, WWW, KDD, ACL, ENMLP, NAACL, CVPR, ICCV, EMSOFT, RTSS, RTAS, ICCPS, HSCC, CDC, ACC, ICRA, IROS, RSS, MobiCom, MobiSys, SenSys, CCS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, FSE, ICSE, ASE, CHI, UBICOMP, and Marquee conferences or journals in CSE or EE.

Benefits

Fellowship Amount: Fellowship amount will be INR 80000 per month for the first year, INR 90000 per month for the second year, and INR 100000 per month in the third year. Extensions to the second and the third year are contingent upon satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Contingency: A contingency amount of INR 1,50,000 per year will be provided to the candidate, which can be spent for conference registration, travel, purchasing minor equipment and books not available in the library.

Medical Benefits: A Postdoctoral Fellow may avail outpatient facilities in the Institute Health Centre. No reimbursement of cost of medicines in treatment is permissible, any outside referral shall not be reimbursable. However, the routine medicines stocked in the Pharmacy of the Health Centre & outsourced Pharmacy available at Health Centre of the Institute will be provided free of charge. The dependents of PDF will be eligible for OPD facility at Health Centre & medicines available at Pharmacy of Health Centre. A medical booklet shall be provided to each Postdoctoral Fellow & his/her dependent. Dependents for this purpose shall be limited to spouse & maximum two children.

Leave rules: A Postdoctoral Fellow will be eligible for 30 days personal leave and 8 days of casual leave in an academic year. Leave on medical ground without pay, duly supported by a medical certificate, may be granted for up to 20 days per academic year.

A female Postdoctoral Fellow may be granted maternity leave for a maximum of 3 months. Leave up to 6 weeks can also be granted for miscarriage including medical termination of pregnancy, if supported by a proper medical certificate. Such leave can be combined with any other leave due and will not entail any loss of financial assistantship.

Accommodation: No on campus accommodation will be provided. HRA may be paid at the prevailing rates of the fellowship amount for off-campus housing.

Campus facilities: Postdoctoral Fellows will enjoy the same benefits as registered students with respect to ID, Computer Center, Central Library, sports facilities, and Swimming Pool etc.
