Biosketch
Prof. Jayandharan G Rao is the KENT Entrepreneurship and Innovation Chair from the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at Christian Medical College, Vellore, and pursued postdoctoral training in Gene Therapy at the University of Florida, USA. His research focuses on Gene therapy, molecular genetics and therapeutics for various inherited and acquired diseases. Prof. Rao serves on several national and international advisory committees on gene therapy and biomanufacturing, has authored over 100 peer-reviewed research articles and 20 granted patents with several of these technologies licensed to industry partners.
