Climate change is a pressing reality, manifesting in the increasing frequency of extreme events--floods, heatwaves, and unpredictable weather--across the globe. These challenges compel us, as academic researchers, to ask how we can contribute to mitigating climate change, enhancing resilience, restoring ecology, and enabling adaptation to emerging environmental crises. It is with this vision that IIT Kanpur has established the Kotak School of Sustainability--the first of its kind in India. The School aspires to recruit around 50 outstanding faculty members over the coming years, each with a proven track record in diverse domains of sustainability. Together, we aim to provide holistic education and conduct cutting-edge research at the frontiers of sustainability science, technology, and policy.
