The CorpAliance is an initiative of the IITK Foundation in active cooperation with IITK. The initiative is being led by Dr. Akshai Runchal on behalf of the Foundation and Prof. Ajit Chaturvedi on behalf of the IITK.
The prime objective of the CorpAliance is an active R&D partnership between industry and IIT Kanpur. This will be made possible by facilitating the access of industrial partners to the intellectuals and research facilities available at IITK. It will enable the Faculty and students to works with CorpAliance members on R&D projects at the Institute meeting the current and future needs of Industry.
The CorpAliance will be a membership body where the industrial partners will pay a small yearly fee (~$50K). In return the IITK will set up a local focal point organization in the premises that will act as a conduit between CorpAliance members and IITK. The members will get priority access to the IITK Library facilities and services, R&D documents and web-presentations etc. They will receive regular updates on the R&D projects, announcements and start-up inittiaves and activities in target areas. They will be briefed on upcoming R&D and can request meetings with faculty working inn targeted areas.
The faculty will get compensated for participating in terms of R&D or travel grants.
