Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following position on regular/ deputation/ contractual basis in the Samtel Centre for Display Technologies (SCDT) of the Institute:

 

Position: Principal Research Engineer in Samtel Centre for Display Technologies

 

Pay level: 13

 

Number of Positions: one (01)

 

Essential qualification and Experience

 

Ph. D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 10-year post Ph. D. experience relevant to flexible electronics. At least 8 years of work experience should be in the field of flexible electronics device fabrication. Applicant must have a proven track record of leading an R&D team and technical project management in the field of flexible electronics.

 

Job description:

The person will lead a team for flexible electronics related devices and processes, such as TFT arrays and circuits. In addition to leading the R&D team, the person is expected to acquire and manage projects in the field of flexible electronics.

 

Preferred Background:

The person should have worked in semi academic environment such as equivalent to flexible electronics center and been involved in project management while leading a group of R&D personnel.

 

Device Development Position: Experience in device physics, device design and fabrication of devices such as displays, TFT arrays, especially oxide TFTs and stretchable electronics. Familiarity with electrical characterization of devices and demonstrated capability of analysis of the data is important. Demonstration of integration of devices in a circuit will be highly valued.

The pay carries all other allowances as admissible to a Central Government employee stationed at Kanpur.

 

The benefits, such as HRA (in case of non availability of on campus housing), LTC, Medical re-imbursement, Transport allowance, children education allowance, contribution towards New Pension Scheme (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone bills shall be permitted as per the Institute norms.

The Institute provides housing on campus. The houses are equipped with free high speed internet.

 

Mere fulfillment of qualifications and other requirement laid down in the advertisement does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Mere submission of the application will not entail a right for claiming interview. However, the requirements of minimum qualification and/or experience may be relaxed in the case of candidates with outstanding credentials. In case a large number of applications, Institute may set criteria for short listing of candidates.

 

Applicant not found suitable for higher positions may be considered for lower positions in the same area of specialization.

 

Reservation will be applicable as per G.O.I. norms. The candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) are required to attach the Caste/Category Certificate in the format as prescribed by the Govt. of India. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of SC/ST, OBCs & PwD.

 

The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason.

As per the entitlement, applicants called for and appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the shortest route and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please note that the amount of fare will be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim.

 

Applicants are also requested to bring with them all the certificates, testimonials and other relevant documents at the time of exam/ interview.

 

Applicants who are employed in Government, Semi-Government Organizations or Institutions should send their applications THROUGH PROPER CHANNEL; else they will be required to produce a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from their employer at the time of interview.

Faculty Application Process

Eligibility

Ph. D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering.



All applications submitted online are available with the concerned Head of the Department as well as the Office of Faculty Affairs. The following steps are adopted for the evaluation of the applicants.

Step 1: A group of faculty members of the concerned area of specialization gives its recommendation on the suitability of the candidates for a faculty position.

Step 2: The candidates recommended by the faculty group are called for seminar.

Step 3: Recommendation letters are sought from the referees of these candidates who are identified after the seminar.

Step 4: The Department Faculty Advisory Committee (DFAC) shortlists the candidates on the basis of the application, faculty input, seminar and referee comments.

Step 5: The shortlisted candidates are presented to the Institute Faculty Advisory Committee (IFAC) and are called for an interview.
