General Information
Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines, and have demonstrated potential for excellence in research. For Assistant Professorship, relevant postdoctoral experience would be advantageous, but is not mandatory. For Associate or Full Professorship, a strong research publication record with demonstrated leadership in conducting inter-disciplinary research and collaboration with industry is essential. The minimum qualifications needed at different levels are given in the table.

The Institute also provides an additional top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- per month for the first three years of service to the newly joined faculty members. After three years of service, the faculty member(s) are eligible for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for faculty of age upto 40 years) providing a top-up salary of Rs.10,000/- per month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- per month for three years. Both the positions are based on performance.
Campus Life (Highlights): Housing (1300 - 2000 sq. ft.) is provided on campus, else HRA (20% of basic) is given; primary health, schooling, and all sports facilities on clean and green campus; tie-ups with major hospitals in city and some metros with partial to full reimbursement.

Research support: Start up grant of 25 lakhs, with more possible on proposal submission; Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA); High-performance computing center.
