Placement Procedures

* Institute invites the company for placements.
* Companies will have to fill up and submit the Response Form attached with the placement brochure. A softcopy of the Response Form can also be downloaded from here.
* A date of mutual convenience is decided for Pre-placement talk and Summer placements.
* Date and Slot are alloted to the company for Lateral placement / Final placement based on student preference criterias mentioned below.

Pre Placement Talk (PPT)

The pre placement talks provide an opportunity for the students to know the company, kind of profile it offers and the career growth paths available. As a standard practice, companies give a formal presentation which is followed by an interactive discussion wherein different queries of students are entertained.

Selection Process

The selection process is decided on the basis of rules & regulations of the institute and requirement of individual companies.

Final Placement

The Final placement process for MBA at IIT Kanpur is usually held in the first week of December. The scheduling of a company is done according to student preferences where following criterias are considered.

Lateral Placement

A good number of students in the current batch have prior work experience. Through lateral recruitments, companies can get hand-picked students who would be match up for their organization. Lateral placements is a platform, exclusively for such companies which would like to offer lateral positions to the these candidates.
