Events
On behalf of the institute the gymkhana organizes the following student festivals. All festivals are an annual feature and find huge student participation both, within and from other colleges.
Antaragni is the annual inter-collegiate cultural festival of IIT Kanpur, held in October/November, and is one of the most popular college festivals in Asia.
The festival draws the best talents of India in its competitions, covering areas ranging from music and drama to literary games and quizzing. There are several events focused on building social responsibility amongst the youth. Professional Shows and workshops by various groups and prodigies from all over the world are an added attraction.
Techkriti is the annual science and technology festival of IIT Kanpur. Over the years, Techkriti has grown into one of the largest collegiate festivals of its kind, held every year in the month of February for a period of four days; the event attracts a large following from topmost engineering, science and management schools of India.
Techkriti also includes events such as the International Online Programming Contest and International Online Hacking Contest, which draws international participation. Techkriti is a platform for college students to showcase their enthusiasm for and talent in science and technology. Techkriti conducts guest lectures and discussion forums where participants can get opportunities to meet, and gain inspiration from, some of eminent scientists, authors, social activists, artists and entrepreneurs.
Prabhandan is a management event of IME department. It held in month of September. The objective of the event is to provide a common platform for academicians, industrialists, corporate professionals, research scholars and young management students to share knowledge and experiences, to update and get updated on current and upcoming trends in the field of business management, and to discuss the problems faced by the 21st century businesses.
An impression is a Post Graduates' festival, where PG's are provided with a platform to display their talent. It is an attempt to capture the talent among the PG's. It includes various art forms and performances. This is going to be an amazing platform to bedazzle the IITK community with the enormous potential and talent that the Post Graduate wing of the student community possesses.
Seminar and confrences
The department of Industrial & Management Engineering used to organize many no of seminars and conferences throughout year .the main objective of these convolves are to bring the academician and corporate people in a common plate form and share and discuss their point of view with the students.
Students also attend many national and international conferences and present there research paper and case studies.

IIT Kanpur is not only known for its academics, here the course structure and campus life also puts a lot of other administrative and system handling quality.
