During the year of Golden Jubilee celebration of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, International Symposium on Photovoltaic Science and Technology is being organized at IIT Kanpur on 13 Jan 2010 as a part of eight days Energy Conclave. It is well known that photovoltaic or solar cells have the potential of providing clean and green energy. Only impediment in its adoption by common man is its high price. The price of the technology can be brought down by new and cheaper materials, processes and better solar cell structures and hence, the need of research and development.

The Symposium aims to bring together academicians, scientists and technologists working in universities, research institutes and industries at same platform to share their experiences, knowledge and expertise.
