Solar Industry in India:
Three main manufacturers in Public sector:- Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore: Crystalline Silicon Central Electronics Ltd, Sahibabad: Crystalline Silicon Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Gurgaon/Bangalore: Crystalline and Amorphous Silicon Private Sector Solar Industry in India:– Tata-BP Solar -Started in 1991-92 with Rs.16 million and stood Rs.4323.6 million in 2005-06. More than 70% export. -To increase production to 85 MW by the end of 2007. By 2010 proposes to increase production to 300 MW. $300 million plan to invest. Moserbaer Photo Voltaic Pvt. Ltd. -With project cost of $58m the target was to reach a capacity of 80MW by 2007 -It is making Single Crystal, Multi-junction Concentrator in collaboration with Solfocus, and Nanostructure PV, Thin Film Solar Panels Facility coming up from Applied Materials. Signet Solar India -US based Signet Solar to establish Signet Solar India -Announcement on 7th June 2007 to invest 2 billion in India towards establishing a manufacturing base of 1 GW in Thin Film Technology in India |
