Anupam Banerjee
Assistant Professor
Ph. D., Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India (2018)

Office: 303E, Western Laboratory Extension
Phone: +91-512-259-2248 (O)
Email: anupamb[AT]iitk.ac.in

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Anupam’s research interests centre around the applications of major, trace elements, and radiogenic (e.g., Nd, Sr), traditional (C-O-S) and non-traditional (e.g., Ca) stable isotope systems to understanding Earth’s surface and deep interior processes. The overarching goals of his research are: (i) dating paleo-weathering event, (ii) understanding the effect of congruent versus incongruent weathering of silicate rocks on river water geochemistry, (iii) the cause and development of mantle heterogeneity, geochemical and isotopic evolution of Earth’s mantle over time with implications on the long-term storage of subducted crustal material inside the mantle and deep carbon cycle.
