About the Program
RISE (Research Internship for International Students) at IITK is an international research internship programme that provides students from around the world with an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience under the mentorship of IIT Kanpur faculty. The programme enables participants to engage in cutting-edge research projects, develop academic and professional skills, network meaningfully with peers from around the world and experience life on an Indian campus.
Program Period
Winter Internship (Online): In December
Summer Internship (Offline): For 6-8 weeks between May to July
Tentative Application Period
- Winter internship: September-October
- Summer internship: February-March
Application Process
- When the application process opens, a list of the available research projects/faculty for both winter and summer internships will be shared on the website.
- Each student can apply for up to two projects through the RISE Application Google form along with the required documents
- The applications will be reviewed by the faculty who may choose to conduct online interviews
- Final results will be conveyed to the selected students by the Office of International Relations
