In a significant step toward international academic and research partnerships, a delegation from Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES), Thailand visited IIT Kanpur on March 26, 2025, to explore research collaborations and academic exchanges. The delegation was led by Prof. Korrakot Yaibuathat, Associate Dean and Director of CM-IES; Dr. Faifan Tantakitti; Prof. Nakorn Tippayawong; and Prof. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule.
The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Bushra Ateeq, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. Ashish Garg, Head of Sustainable Energy Engineering. The discussions with the visitors focused on faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and innovation-driven partnerships.
Lab Visits and Research Insights
To gain insights into IIT Kanpur’s research, the delegation visited:
- NCFlexE (National Centre for Flexible Electronics) – Exploring advancements in flexible electronics and potential collaborations.
- Flight Laboratory – Observing research on aerodynamics, UAV development, and experimental aviation.
- Sustainable Energy Engineering Labs (Diamond Jubilee Block) – Hosted by Prof. Ashish Garg, highlighting research in renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable engineering solutions.
The visit laid the foundation for future engagements between the two institutions. With a shared vision of academic excellence and technological innovation, both institutions are committed to advancing global knowledge exchange and impactful research partnerships.
