The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was delighted to welcome Prof. Omar Salim Ayed Al-Ayed, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, and Prof. Nasir Yosif Kloub, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, from Al-Balqa Applied University, Jordan, on 30 June 2026.

A distinguished alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Prof. Al-Ayed earned his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in 1984 and subsequently completed his PhD in the same discipline in 1989 from the Institute. His visit marked a meaningful homecoming and reaffirmed the enduring bond between IIT Kanpur and its global alumni community.

During their visit, the delegation met with Prof. Bushra Ateeq, Dean of International Relations, to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration, with discussions focusing on strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding avenues for faculty and student exchange.

IIT Kanpur sincerely appreciates the visit of Prof. Al-Ayed and Prof. Kloub and looks forward to fostering a productive partnership with Al-Balqa Applied University that advances global academic engagement and collaborative research.
