Workshop

  • The Department of Humanities & Social Sc. organized an intensive 4-day workshop titled "Workshop on Visual Arts Research Paper Writing" from January 15 to 18, 2026. This event took place in FB620, Faculty Building, IIT Kanpur, and provided a unique opportunity for students to learn the art of writing and publishing journal papers from renowned experts in the field. The eminent experts and mentors from leading institutions include Prof. Deepak J. Mathew. Professor & former HoD, Dept. of Design, IIT Hyderabad, Prof. Banatanwi Dasmahapatra, Associate Professor & HoD, Dept. of Textile Art, Kala-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, and Prof. Mandar Mukherjee, noted poet & Associate Professor (Retired), University of Calcutta. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Ritwij Bhowmik, Discipline of Fine Arts, Dept. of HSS, IIT Kanpur.

  • The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur organized a 2-Day Workshop on Visual Arts Research Methodology on 17th – 18th January’25, at FB620, Faculty Building, IIT Kanpur. The two external experts invited for the workshop were Prof. (Dr.) Deepak John Mathew, Sr. Professor & former-HoD, Dept. of Design, IIT Hyderabad and Prof. (Dr.) Pradosh Kumar Mishra, Sr Professor & former-HoD, Dept. of History of Art, Banaras Hindu University. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Ritwij Bhowmik, Discipline of Fine Arts, Dept. of HSS, IIT Kanpur.
