IIT Kanpur conducts 3-day workshop on research skills

Kanpur, 23 February 2023: The Academics and Career Council of IIT Kanpur conducted a three-day workshop on "How to Improve Your Research Skills" by Prof. N Sundararajan (Retd.), School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The students were introduced to the nuances of research and were informed that to carry out commendable research, there is a need to develop multiple research skills and use them simultaneously. One has to develop a deep thinking habit, and a questioning mind and also should develop lateral thinking.



Through highly interactive and informative sessions, graduate students were also informed of the need to be aware of the ethical practices in research before they start on the journey. Prof. N Sundararajan was one of the prominent scientists in ISRO and had worked closely with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam before shifting to an academic career in 1991. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Shalabh, Dean of Academic Affairs, IIT Kanpur.
