Kanpur, March 23, 2023: IIT Kanpur’s Techkriti'23, Asia's one of the largest annual technical and entrepreneurial festivals, kicked off with its 29th edition on March 23, 2023. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director IIT Kanpur; Prof. Arnab Bhattacharya (Associate Dean, Students Affairs), and Prof. Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, the FAC (Festival Advisory Committee) Chairman. The inaugural session started with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by speeches from the dignitaries. Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur, highlighted the significance of research and startup culture that has been a prime focus of IIT Kanpur for a long time. He urged the students to leverage the platform of Techkriti'23 to contribute towards the field of technology and nation-building. Prof. Amitabha Bandyopadhyay talked on the artificial heart project being undertaken at IIT Kanpur and its promising future prospects. The theme for this year’s edition is "Enigmatic Tessellations" and comes with a mascot named ‘Tessellato’. This year’s edition aims to explore the fascinating world of tessellations and its applications in technology and innovation. The theme of enigmatic tessellations is expected to encourage participants to think creatively and explore the beauty and complexity of tessellations. It encourages them to delve into the intricacies of patterns and how they can be used in fields such as architecture, robotics, and data science. Tessellato, the mascot of Techkriti'23, represents the fusion of creativity and technology that the theme embodies. As an animated character, Tessellato encourages participants to think outside the box and embrace the challenge of solving complex problems through innovative approaches. The official anthem of Techkriti'23, "Kriti", was unveiled at the inaugural ceremony, which is a creative composition by the HipHop Collective team. A traditional dance performance followed the anthem-unveil session, which left the audience spellbound. Prof. Karandikar presented mementoes to all the artists, appreciating their splendid performances. A sand art event by Sand Artist Sarvam Patel was organized on Day 1, where he showcased his unique ability to intricately carve and shape sand into awe-inspiring creations, leaving the viewers mesmerized. The first day of the event also saw four workshops being conducted on diverse topics, including Stock Investment, Java Programming, Web Development, and Digital Marketing. The Stock Investment workshop aimed to provide participants with an overview of the stock market and its functioning. The workshop covered topics such as stock analysis, valuation techniques, and risk management strategies; whereas, the Java Programming workshop was aimed at teaching participants the fundamentals of Java programming language. The Web Development workshop focused on teaching participants how to create responsive and interactive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The workshop covered the basics of web development, including creating web pages, styling with CSS, and adding interactivity using JavaScript. The Digital Marketing workshop aimed to provide participants with an overview of digital marketing and its various channels. The workshop covered topics such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing. Later in the night, there was a symphony show of Mallika, popularly known as ‘The Adele of Mumbai’ at the events ground. Her symphony show promised to be a night of pure enchantment, as she took the audience on a journey of melodious rhythms and heartfelt lyrics. The four-day fiesta will continue till March 26, 2023. Kanpur, March 21, 2023: IIT Kanpur’s Techkriti, revered as one of Asia’s largest technical and entrepreneurial festivals, is back for the 2023 edition to be held from March 23-26, 2023. The fest has become a renowned platform for celebrating creativity and innovations in technology. The theme for this year’s edition is “Enigmatic Tessellations”. Many interesting workshops, fascinating shows, enthralling talks, events, intriguing exhibitions, and competitions are lined up for the four-day festival. Over the years, the festival had attracted a footfall of over 60,000 from around 1500 prestigious colleges all over the world. This year, the various competitions come up with a combined reward pool of more than 45 Lacs and will cater to diverse categories. Robogames, Take Off, Software Corner, Mandakini, Model United Nations, Fintech, ECDC, Design, Technovation, clubbed with the entrepreneurial and business events are key categories of the different competitions to be held this year. Techkriti will host workshops on crucial domains such as IoT with Google, Robotics, Drone, Blockchain Technology, Startup, Consulting, Machine Learning, Product Management, Cloud Computing and many more, with the aim to demonstrate the advancements in science and technology to future engineers and science enthusiasts. Techkriti, in its past 28 years, hosted various prominent personalities who shared their valuable insights and domain expertise with the participants. Continuing that tradition, Techkriti’23 has unveiled an exciting lineup of speakers including Mylswamy Annadurai (Moon man of India), Rajagopala Chidambaram (Former Principal Scientific Advisor of Government of India, who coordinated test preparation for the Pokhran-I and Pokhran-II), Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa (Ex-Chief of Air Staff IAF), Vivek Nagabhushan (Director of Flight Sciences at Blue Origin), Jeffrey Archer (Best-Selling English Author), Bikash Chandra Sinha (Former Director of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre), Premlata Agrawal (First Indian woman to scale the seven summits), Pankaj Agarwal (Founder and CEO, Taghive), Prateek Sethi (Ex-Host of FAQ on POGO Tv) and many more. There will be various exhibitions aimed at shaping futuristic innovation, ideas and thinking at Techkriti’23, that includes Auto Expo, which will have a display of a stunning Aston Martin model; and NAO by Softbank Robotics, which will feature a humanoid robot designed to interact with humans in a variety of settings, from education and healthcare to research and entertainment. Besides workshops, talks, and exhibitions, the fest had witnessed incredible performances in the past with DJ nights by Willy William, Zephyrtone and DJ Morgan, stand-up comedy sessions by Zakir Khan and Biswa Kalyan Rath, engaging concerts by Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Nucleya and Piyush Mishra, breathtaking performances by Farhan Akhtar, Beltek and NDS & Blues, Finnish rock band and many more. There were also other fascinating shows including Edge Ryderz (motorbike stunt show), informal session by TVF Pitchers team, 3D projection mapping show, fireworks and laser shows, magic show, drone show, air show by Akash Ganga team of Indian Air Force and more.
