Kanpur, 27 May, 2026: The Media and Cultural Council contingent of the Students’ Gymkhana, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur secured the Overall Championship at the Inter IIT Cultural Meet 8.0, bringing home the Gold Medal and securing the 1st position among all participating institutes.

The students displayed remarkable creativity, dedication, teamwork, and talent across a wide range of cultural and artistic events, reflecting IIT Kanpur’s vibrant cultural spirit and excellence beyond academics.

The IIT Kanpur contingent delivered an exceptional performance across various categories at the Inter IIT Cultural Meet 8.0. The team secured Gold in the Speaking Arts Cup, Theatre Arts Cup, Digital Arts Cup, Photography Cup, Fashion Cup, and Culinary Arts Cup.

The contingent also achieved Silver in the Dance Arts Cup and Musical Arts Cup, while earning Bronze in the Comedic Arts Cup and Fine Arts Cup, showcasing the institute’s all-around excellence in cultural and artistic events.

Participants won Gold Medals in several prestigious events, including Hindi Story Writing, Hindi Slam Poetry, Asian Parliamentary Debate (Distinguished Adjudicators), Group Dance, Mime, Pair on Stage, Street Photography, Photostory Competition, Themed Photography Competition, Fashion Show, Online Modelling Competition, Cook Off, Tag Team, and Mixology. These achievements highlighted the students’ exemplary creativity, artistic excellence, and outstanding performance across the literary, performing, digital, and culinary arts.

Apart from this, the contingent also secured Silver Medals in several major events, including Design Marathon, Graphic Design Competition (OGD), Costume Design, Band Competition, Street Play, Stage Play, and Hindi Slam Poetry. These accomplishments reflected the students’ remarkable talent, creativity, and strong performances across design, theatre, music, and literary categories at the Inter IIT Cultural Meet 8.0.

The IIT Kanpur secured Bronze Medals as well in multiple events, including Sports Quiz, Asian Parliamentary Debate (Debating Team), Just Duet, 51 Hr Short Film Competition, Canvas Painting, Graphic Design Competition (OGD), 3D Animation Competition (O3D), and Online Modelling Competition. These achievements further showcased the students’ versatility, creativity, and strong competitive spirit across diverse cultural, artistic, and intellectual events at the Inter IIT Cultural Meet 8.0.

The institute extended heartfelt congratulations to all students, coordinators, secretaries, mentors, alumni, and faculty members associated with the Media and Cultural Council.
