The Ministry of Education’s flagship initiative SATHEE (Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams), developed by IIT Kanpur, has officially launched live JEE and NEET coaching classes for Class 11 and 12 students in government schools of Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu. This was following the successful orientation of over 200 science teachers earlier this year. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the UT Directorate of Education, aims to provide free, high-quality coaching to students preparing for India’s most competitive entrance exams.

The live classes officially commenced on July 8, 2025, and are being conducted during regular school hours using smart classroom infrastructure installed in government schools. These sessions are delivered by experienced faculty and mentors from IITs and AIIMS, offering expert-led academic guidance to students at no cost. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the UT Directorate of Education, which has been instrumental in building local capacity and enabling digital learning frameworks.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur, said, “At IIT Kanpur, we are committed to leveraging technology to make quality education accessible to every student, regardless of their background or geography. SATHEE is a step in that direction, bringing structured, expert-led preparation for JEE and NEET into classrooms across the country. We are proud to see the platform being implemented in Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu, and we look forward to supporting many more such initiatives that bridge the opportunity gap in education.”

Led by Shri Rahul Garg, EdTech Director at SATHEE, the orientation provided educators with a comprehensive walkthrough of the platform’s features and teaching methodologies. Educators were trained to use SATHEE’s live and recorded lectures, mock tests, personalized learning tools, and multilingual content to better support students preparing for highly competitive national entrance exams. Elaborating on the event, he said, "The success of any digital learning platform lies in its effective integration at the classroom level. Through our teacher orientation in Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu, we aimed to ensure that educators are not just users, but champions of SATHEE’s mission.”

With this rollout, students in the Union Territory now have access to the kind of structured, intensive exam preparation that has traditionally been available only through private coaching institutions in urban centres. By bringing expert teaching directly into government classrooms, the SATHEE initiative reaffirms its core mission of democratizing access to competitive exam coaching for all.

The launch of live classes in Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu adds to SATHEE’s growing national footprint and represents another step forward in the Ministry of Education’s and IIT Kanpur’s joint efforts to integrate technology, equity, and excellence into the Indian education system.
