Kanpur, 08 December, 2024: Campus School, IIT Kanpur, celebrated its highly anticipated “Saptrang-2024: Sports Fest” yesterday, at the Campus School Ground. The event brought together students, parents, and faculty in a vibrant celebration of sports, creativity, and teamwork. The fest was inaugurated by Prof. Braj Bhushan, Deputy Director, IIT Kanpur in the presence of Prof. Vaibhav Srivastava, DOAD, and Prof. Niraj Sinha, PI to CSGB. The opening ceremony featured a Welcome Song performed by students of Classes III, IV, and V, setting a joyous tone for the day.

The event was marked by a series of captivating performances that highlighted important themes such as sportsmanship, health, and environmental awareness. The youngest participants from Class KG and Prep delighted the audience with their presentations, Khel Geet and Rocking Stars, emphasizing the joy of sports. Class I students amazed everyone with Maar Salute Tirange Noo, while Class II's Swachh Bharat left the audience spellbound with its innovative use of props. Class III students got the crowd moving with their energetic Zooming Zumba, and Class IV transported everyone to an enchanting green world with Nurture the Nature, accompanied by soothing background music. Students from Classes I to V showcased exceptional coordination in their Mass PT drills. One of the most inspiring moments was the dance presentation Ghoomer, depicting the motivational story of a female cricketer who triumphed over adversity. The finale, Health is Wealth, performed by Class V students, combined Lezium, hula hoops, and aerobics in a spirited tribute to Lord Ganesha.

The day also featured thrilling sports competitions, including the finals of various races such as the Balancing Race for Class I, Quoit Race for Class III, Orange Cap Race for Class KG, Mask Race for Class Prep, Lakshya Sen Race for Class II, PR Sreejesh Race for Class IV, and Umbrella Race for Class V. The much-loved Vande Bharat Express Race, held earlier during school hours, was also celebrated. Adding to the excitement, fun races for parents drew enthusiastic participation, ensuring the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Prizes for the races and other activities held throughout the year were distributed by the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director Prof. Braj Bhushan, along with Prof. Vaibhav Srivastava and Prof. Niraj Sinha, highlighted the significance of such events in fostering holistic growth in primary school students.

The fest concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Achla Josan, Principal of Campus School, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their wholehearted support and to the staff and students for their relentless efforts in making the event a grand success. The overwhelming participation and enthusiasm of the Campus School community made Saptrang-2024 a truly memorable celebration of talent, creativity, and sportsmanship.
