Active and Passive Control of Hooting In Gas Turbine Engines

Combustion Instabilities are the most devastating consequences in Gas Turbine Engines in the world at the present state of art. Hooting avoidance is a part of reducing noise in the combustion chamber of gas turbine engines as a part which is produced by combustion instabilities. The major part work is to investigate the mechanisms which drives the combustion instability which is the source of sound. To adapt active and passive methods to control these instabilities in order to avoid hooting.

Research Topic

Protection Schemes in Survivable Optical Networks Using P- Cycle At present, a single optical fibre is capable to deliver terabytes of capacity. A fibre cut, even for short time duration may result in a huge data and revenue loss. Hence, survivability has become one of the major concern in optical network design. Existing technique of Mesh and Ring protections have their own even and odds. p-Cycle (Pre-configured cycle) concept is based on searching ring in the Mesh Topology and it combines the benefit of both ring as well as mesh. In all applications of p- cycle, cycle search and optimization is done offline. We are working on On-line implementation of p- cycle.
