Kanpur, 21st July, 2024: – The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has announced the Udghosh National Open School Quiz (UNOSQ) 2024 as part of its annual sports festival, Udghosh. The quiz will be held in two phases between August 25th and September 1st, 2024. Students from grades 5-12 across India are eligible to participate. Participants in UNOSQ 2024 will be divided into four age groups: Little Champs (classes 5-6), Super Nova (classes 7-8), The Titans (classes 9-10), and Elite Explorers (classes 11-12). The top 100 students from the first phase will proceed to the second round. The first phase of UNOSQ will take place on August 25, 2024, where participants will engage in a series of challenging questions designed to test their logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and general knowledge. The top 100 students from this round will advance to the second phase which is slated for September 1, 2024. To help students better prepare for the quiz, a session with IAS Aditya Srivastava, AIR 1 holder in the 2023 UPSC CSE and an alumnus of IITK, was organized. This session provided attendees with insights into effective study techniques, time management, and the importance of perseverance. Vanshika and Suraj, Heads, Events and Competitions, Team Udghosh, said, "We are enthused to see the interest of students in the Udghosh National Open School Quiz. Our intent is to provide young minds with a platform to interact with others and participate in healthy competition. This competition will test their mettle and knowledge. Participants will have an opportunity to display their logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and general knowledge. We are certain that this will be a valuable exercise for every participant." The announcement of winners and the felicitation ceremony will be held on October 4th, 2024, at the IITK campus. Winners will be awarded prizes worth over ₹50,000, along with various merchandise and goodies. Registration for UNOSQ is open until August 21st.
