Kanpur, 25 April, 2025: SATHEE, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, aims to provide equitable access to quality education for all students, especially those who may otherwise have limited access to quality coaching and academic support. This vision is now being reflected in Puducherry, where 571 government school students are currently undergoing NEET coaching under a special initiative of the Education Department, with academic support from SATHEE resource persons, along with notes, weekly mock tests, and daily Practise tests.
With the NEET examination approaching, SATHEE’s support has been strengthened this year through physical classroom coaching at designated centres in Puducherry. The programme is part of a 30-day crash course coaching initiative being conducted to strengthen NEET preparation of government school students ahead of the examination. The initiative is enabling closer academic support, better monitoring, and improved student engagement. A preliminary diagnostic assessment was also conducted at the beginning of the programme to understand the learning levels and subject preparedness of students. Notably, 450 girl students are among those registered for the coaching programme.
SATHEE is also providing notes, daily practice tests, and weekly full-length mock tests to give students hands-on experience of the real examination. The initiative aims to prepare students through regular assessment, structured practice, and continuous academic support. In addition, AI-based assessments are being conducted to identify students’ weaker areas and enable more targeted guidance and intervention.
This programme builds on last year’s experience, when SATHEE had extended support through online coaching classes for government school students in Puducherry. As per officials, 158 students qualified for NEET last year, and 36 students joined medical institutions within Puducherry. Encouraged by these outcomes, the initiative has now moved to a more structured physical coaching model this year.
In a similar effort, SATHEE is also conducting an online camp for Punjab government schools, in which around 1,300 students are participating. SATHEE’s impact has also been clearly visible in Punjab, where the number of students qualifying for NEET increased from 335 in 2024 to 497 in 2025, reflecting a significant improvement following SATHEE-supported academic interventions.
The continued expansion of SATHEE across states reflects its growing role in strengthening student preparedness, confidence, and performance in competitive examinations through both online and physical support models.
