IIT Kanpur focuses on nurturing and shaping the future for the brightest minds, forging a collaborative network of like-minded individuals. Our community of researchers and scholars comprises experts across disciplines who continuously work on advancing knowledge and academics by mentoring existing students and locating potential educators who can contribute to accelerating the process by joining our faculty network.
Mission
To partner with IITK in its effort to recruit and develop the best faculty.
Key Activities
The network will focus on the following activities:
- Faculty recruitment
- Short term visits by IITK faculty to the labs of network members
- Visits by the members to IITK
- Research collaborations
- Mentoring junior faculty and graduate students from IITK
Network Involvement
Current Focus: Faculty Recruitment
- Identify potential faculty candidates.
- Discuss with them the opportunities available at IITK and connect them with the appropriate IITK contact.
Current Status
- A Google Group has been created with over 130 members. Most of the IITK academic departments have posted a brief introduction of the Department and the Department's strategic priorities on faculty recruitment.
- Members are requested to review them, provide feedback and comments to the Departments, and most importantly suggest potential candidates.
