IIT Kanpur to host 63rd Foundation Day on November 2, 2022; Shri Subramanian Ramadorai, Chairperson Board of Governors, TISS to be Chief Guest

 

   
  • A total of 18 awardees will be awarded across categories -Institute Fellows, Distinguished Alumnus Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, Young Alumnus Awards, and Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award

  • The Foundation Day will be preceded by a commemorative Indian Classical Music Evening titled ‘Antarang’ to be hosted at the Outreach Auditorium on November 1.

Kanpur, November 01, 2022: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is going to host the 63rd Foundation Day on November 2, 2022. Unlike last year, it is going to be a fully physical event this year. Shri Subramanian Ramadorai, Chairperson Board of Governors, TISS will grace as the Chief Guest for the event.



Shri Subramanian Ramadorai is a man who has donned several hats at different levels. He is the former CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services and former Chairman of the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA). He currently serves as the Chairperson on the Council of Management at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Chairperson of the Governing Board at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and President of the Society for Rehabilitation of Crippled Children (SRCC). For his illustrious career and significant contribution to the IT industry, he was bestowed with India’s third highest civilian award the Padma Bhushan in 2006.

The Foundation Day will be preceded by a commemorative Indian Classical Music Evening titled ‘Antarang’ to be hosted at the Outreach Auditorium on November 1. There will be a Rabindra Sangeet session based on Carnatic and Hindustani ragas by Group Bodhi, followed by Hindustani vocal recital by Mrs. Amarabati Biswas and Mrs. Pradnya Khandekar, and Carnatic vocal recital by Dr. Koppillil Radhakrishnan, Chairperson, Board of Governors IIT Kanpur.


Top institute honours such as Institute Fellows, Distinguished Alumnus Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, Young Alumnus Awards, Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award will highlight the 63rd Foundation Day. The Institute Fellows award recognizes distinguished contributions made by individuals towards the institute's growth, while the Distinguished Service Awards recognize those alumni who raise the institute’s stature in global arena. The Distinguished Alumnus Awards are given to those alumni who have made a mark in their areas of work, while the Young Alumnus Awards recognize the alumni who are under 40 years of age, and have shown significant growth within their domain. The Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award is a prestigious honour given to an alumnus for their highest display of professional integrity. This year, IIT Kanpur will honour a total of 18 awardees across the prestigious categories.
