Kanpur, 19 July 2022: Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship Centre of Excellence (AIIDE-CoE), supported by ‘StartinUP’, SIIC IIT Kanpur, and FICCI, organized their first Investor Connect event on 16th July at IIT Kanpur’s Outreach Centre in Noida. The one-day event was held for its first cohort of startups. The Uttar Pradesh government has entrusted IIT Kanpur and FICCI to establish a world-class Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Noida to nurture and incubate 250 startups from the AI/ML domain over five years. To further the initiative, this demo day event was organized for its 11 key startups. The welcome note to the attendees was delivered by Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, CEO (FIRST & AIIDE CoE). The event witnessed more than 15 investors participating as per their sector inclination for business collaboration. Apart from the investors, HDFC team and SIDBI officials also graced the occasion.
Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, CEO (FIRST & AIIDE CoE) said, "In this era, investors are the backbone of all startups. Their role extends right from enhancing, expanding, growing, or sometimes even beginning a business.” He further stated, “All startups require basic resources regardless of whether they are in their developmental stage or expansion phase. On this demo day Investor Connect, our startups will take a giant leap towards initiating major capital funding.” Following startups among the portfolio of 100+ startups, participated in the demo day event:
Commenting on the successful event, Mr. Deepak Agarwal, Vertical Head - AI/ML, said, "I am thankful to all stakeholders for showing up in such a short span and making this event successful. The Investor Connect hosted by AIIDE-CoE in Noida today is another step to support more startups and innovators. I am optimistic that these startups will steadily grow into well-sustaining businesses." Mr Abhishek Tiwari, Associate Director – KPMG & Lead advisor - StartinUP, addressed the gathering and elaborated on the various initiatives and steps taken by the UP Government to support the startup ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh. The event also took the investors through Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur’s sustained efforts toward alleviating the startup ecosystem in India. About AIIDE-CoE Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship - CoE (Center of Excellence) is a domain-specific facility that provides Mentorship, Networking opportunities, training, research & development, Infrastructure, funding opportunities to the start-ups. “FIRST” - IIT Kanpur (Foundation for Innovation and Research in Science & Technology) in collaboration with “FICCI” (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) has come together to establish this Center of Excellence in Noida.
