The students with M.E./M.Tech degrees have to complete at least 36 course credits, and students with B. Tech/BS/M. Sc degrees are required to complete 72 course credits. The minimum total credit requirement for the PhD program is 216 credits, with at least 72 thesis credits. A student must maintain a minimum CPI of 7.0 to appear for the comprehensive examination, which is arranged by the department. After passing the comprehensive examination, the student is formally admitted to the PhD program. Thereafter, the student is required to pass the state of art seminar (SOTA) within six months from the comprehensive examination date. The course structure of the PhD program is as follows.
