Vision:

We are an interdisciplinary centre that combines cutting edge technology from engineering and advances in science to create new horizons in the field of photonic science and engineering. Our expertise lies in the areas related to photonics, bio-photonics, imaging, spectroscopy, material processing, optical communication and quantum optics. Being an interdisciplinary research centre we bring together team or individuals that integrate techniques, tools and perspectives from two or more disciplines to advance fundamental understanding or to solve problems whose solutions are beyond the scope of any single discipline or area of research. Our vision is to contribute meaningfully to the world through excellence in scientific education and research, and furthermore create valuable resource for the society at large.

Faculty profile:

We provide a platform for interdisciplinary research on light related technologies, and hence draw faculty from various departments across the institute including Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering and Physics.
