Dr. Rajeev Gautam was President & CEO of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) until his retirement in late 2021 after 43 years with the company. Honeywell PMT is a global leader in providing advanced materials, process technologies and automation solutions, with sales of $10 billion in 2021. Rajeev also served as President of Honeywell UOP, one of the leading suppliers of process technologies that have formed the foundation for most of the world's refiners, efficiently producing gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, petrochemicals and renewable fuels. He also served as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of PMT. Prior to that he held key positions within UOP, spanning research and development, engineering, and marketing, including Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of UOP. Rajeev began his career with Union Carbide in 1978 and became part of UOP through a joint venture in 1988. Throughout his career, he has championed innovative solutions for industry needs and has been responsible for the development and commercialization of a broad range of catalytic and separations applications for the refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries. Dr. Gautam holds his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from the University of Chicago.
Prof. Jayant K. Singh is the Om Prakash Gautam Chair Professor in the department of chemical engineering. He received his B.Tech in chemical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1997. He subsequently completed his M.S. degree in computer science and engineering in 2002 and Ph.D. in chemical engineering, in 2004, from SUNY Buffalo, USA.
Prof. Singh is the founder of Prescience Insilico which specializes in accelerating drug and material discovery, and inventor of Bhu-Parikshak - a handheld soil sensing tool and Munh-Parikshak- a handheld early-stage oral cancer sensing tool.
Dr. Singh has authored over 190 peer-reviewed articles and holds six Indian patent and one US patent. He is a recipient of numerous awards such as the INAE-SERB Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship, NASI-Reliance Industries Jubilee Platinum Award, IIChE Herdillia Award, SERB STAR Award, JSPS Invitation Fellowship, Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship, Young Engineers of Indian National Academy of Engineering, IIChE Amar Dye Chem Award, BRNS Young Scientist Award and DST-BOYSCAST Fellowship. He is also an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Science, India. Dr. Singh has guided 17 PhDs, 40 Masters, and 40 post-doctoral students. Dr. Singh is currently an associate editor of the Journal of Chemical Engineering Communications and serves on the advisory board of ACS Chemical Engineering Data, ACS Omega, and Fluid Phase Equilibria.
