Soma and Manas Mandal Chair
Dr. Manas Mandal (BT/CSE/1985) is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and completed his B.Tech from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 1985. Dr. Manas Mandal and Dr. Soma Mandal instituted the Soma and Manas Mandal chair and it is open to a distinguished professor in the Computer Science and Engineering department of IIT Kanpur.

Prof. Indranil Saha from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur, has research interests in embedded and cyber-physical systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, and formal methods. He received his M.Tech. degree from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Excellence in Teaching Award at IIT Kanpur, the DST-SERB Early Career Research Award, and the ACM SIGBED Frank Anger Memorial Award.
