Dr. Manas Mandal (BT/CSE/1985) is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and completed his B.Tech from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 1985. Dr. Manas Mandal and Dr. Soma Mandal instituted the Soma and Manas Mandal chair and it is open to a distinguished professor in the Computer Science and Engineering department of IIT Kanpur.

Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Intelligent Systems at the Wadhwani School of AI & Intelligent Systems Prof. Indranil Saha is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and serves as the Head of the Department of Intelligent Systems at the Wadhwani School of AI & Intelligent Systems, IIT Kanpur. His research focuses on applying formal methods and AI techniques to embedded and cyber-physical systems and robotics.

He earned his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kalyani Government Engineering College, M.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute, and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed postdoctoral research at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, University of California, Berkeley, and the Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Pennsylvania. Prof. Saha has been recognized with the Best Repeatability Evaluation Award and the ACM SIGBED Frank Anger Memorial Award.
