Mr. Rajat Dhawan is the Managing Partner of McKinsey, India. He has more than two decades of experience at McKinsey with expertise in areas of Automotive & Assembly, Performance Transformation, Strategy & Corporate Finance and Operations.
Mr. Dhawan did his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1994. Later, he went on to complete his MBA from IIM Lucknow. He started his career as a Software Engineer at Infosys in 1994. He then joined McKinsey as a Senior Partner in 1997.
While at McKinsey, Mr. Dhawan focused on serial innovations that enhanced client efficiency and performance by founding Centers of Competence in India which pivots on functional expertise in topics ranging from product development to manufacturing. He is a leading consultant and advisor in areas of strategy and performance transformation.He has been a stalwart in helping a number of clients in their transformative journey of becoming global achievers and leaders.
As a thought leader in the automotive sector, Mr. Dhawan has collaborated for several years with industry bodies including the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association thus helping to enhance the growth of the industries. He has helped in quality transformation of small and medium enterprises with collaboration with the Quality Council of India.
Mr. Dhawan co-founded the Time India Awards, a collaboration between McKinsey and Time Magazine to recognize merit and cutting edge in Indian manufacturing. He is also a founder and sponsor of Ashoka University, a leading liberal arts university in India.
