Dr. S.N. Singh is a Professor (HAG) at IIT Kanpur in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He works in the areas of power system restructuring, power system optimization & control, security analysis, wind power etc.
Prof. Singh did his M.Tech. and PhD in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1989 and 1995 respectively. Before joining IIT Kanpur as associate professor, he worked with UP State Electricity Board, IIT Roorkee, and with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He has also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur.
Prof. Singh is the recipient of many awards, such as Young Engineer Award (2000) from INAE, Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, and Young Engineer Award of CBIP, New Delhi (1996).
