Overview:
This lab is used for the under-graduate courses (ME-401A & ME-344). The objective is to keep pace with the recent technological advancement in the field of energy conversion (IC engines, refrigeration), Fluid Mechanics, and Turbines.

- Kaplan Turbine
- Educational models related to turbo machinery and instrumentation to measure, temperature, pressure, velocity, flow and visualisation, rotational speed, torque etc.
Experiments:
- Estimate of the performance characteristics of two-stages axial flow fan.
- Demonstration of the principles of operation and to evaluate the characteristics of a small-scale hydro power unit (Pelton turbine).
- Finding the operating characteristic in serial and parallel mode of a Serial and Parallel centrifugal Pump.
- Evaluation of efficiency and performance characteristics of a multi-stage centrifugal compressor.
- Evaluation of thermal efficiency and output of a Rankine Cycler.
- Performance study on Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) Four-stroke C.I Engine and to obtain characteristics curves at variable operating conditions.
- To study the operating characteristics on a cascade tunnel.
- Evaluation of Performance Characteristics for a Francis Turbine.
- To understand the operating characteristics of a vapor compression system via calculation of COP at different operating conditions with real time data acquisition.
