Department of Chemical Engineering is among the five departments established at the inception of IIT Kanpur in 1959. Ranked among the nation's top schools in Chemical Engineering, the department at IIT Kanpur is now endowed with state-of-art facilities and distinguished faculty members with both national and international recognitions. The 28 current faculty members with expertise in traditional as well as emerging areas of chemical engineering are at the forefront of nurturing the vibrant academic ambience of the department through their research and pedagogical endeavours.
