Mr. Ranjan Tandon is the Founder and Chairman of Libra Advisors LLC. which was consistently ranked in the top hedge funds prior to converting to a family office in 2012.. He is also on the board of New York University, Tandon School of Engineering, ArborGen Holdings Ltd, Vostok Emerging Finance Ltd. and Carl Schurz Park Conservancy.

Mr. Tandon is known for his philanthropic work in both academic and cultural programs. He and his wife, Chandrika, made a significant gift to the New York University School of Engineering to support excellence in Academics and to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. In recognition of their generosity, the school was renamed as NYU Tandon School of Engineering. NYU Tandon has collaborated with IIT Kanpur in Cybersecurity and has initiated a Dual PhD program with IITK.The Tandons have also actively supported other institutions including Lincoln Center and the Berklee School of Music. Mr Tandon has endowed Professorships at Harvard Business School in Leadership and at Yale University in Hindu Studies. Mr. Tandon received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1972. Honoring his exemplary work in the field of philanthropic services, IITK conferred upon Mr. Ranjan Tandon the Distinguished Alumnus Award, 2020.
