The session “Maternal Health & Innovation: Advances in Research and Technology,” organized by GSMST, IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with the Women’s Collective Forum (WCF), marked a significant step toward advancing equitable access to affordable healthcare in Uttar Pradesh. Bringing together leading experts from biomedical research, clinical practice, and reproductive health sciences, the session fostered a rich exchange of ideas at the intersection of innovation, translational research, and maternal healthcare delivery.

Strengthening Women and Maternal Health in Rural Communities

The workshop titled “Strengthening Women and Maternal Health in Rural Communities” was successfully organized at Ranjit Singh Rozi Shiksha Kendra (RSK), IIT Kanpur, by the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology (GSMST), IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with the Women’s Collective Forum (WCF) and RSK. The event aimed to raise awareness about women’s physical and mental health, maternal care, and preventive healthcare among women artisans from nearby rural communities. The program commenced with lunch and registration, providing participants with an opportunity to interact in an informal setting. This was followed by a welcome and introduction session by Ms. Shirolly Anand and Ms. Rita Singh, who highlighted the objectives of the workshop, introduced WCF, and emphasized the importance of women’s and maternal health in community development.
