Dr. Shivendra Singh Panwar is a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the Tandon School of Engineering (Polytechnic Institute) of New York University. He is a recipient of Distinguished Alumnus Award 2020, From IIT Kanpur.
Prof. Panwar did his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1981 and subsequently went on to do his MS and Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1983 and 1986, respectively. He is currently the Director of the New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications (CATT), the Founding Faculty Director of the NY City Media Lab, and a member of NYU Wireless. His research interests include the performance analysis and design of networks. Current work includes wireless networks, switch performance and multimedia transport over networks. He is an IEEE Fellow and a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
